Two working class heroes have emerged this week; Steven Slater and Elyse Porterfield.
Steven Slater, is was a Jet Blue flight attendant. Slater approached some hag who was attempting to remove her luggage from the carry on compartment before the plane came to a complete stop. The passenger refused to listen to Slater and her luggage “accidentally” hit Slater in the face. Afer that, Slater got on the microphone and went on an expletive laced tirade which included, ” To the passenger who called me a m–er, f*ck you!”
He then proceeded to grab two beers off the beverage cart, opened the emergency exit and slid down the emergency slide. He was then put in jail and placed on $2,500 bail, which he posted yesterday, and may face up to 7 years in prison. Upon his release, the media asked him if he thinks he will lose his job and he casually responded, “more than likely”. lol. However, Slater has many supporters and thousands of facebook friends. He has become a hero for doing what many fed up workers dream of doing and he is now the most searched person on the web. There are even talks of a movie being made about Slater starring Jim Carey, Neil Patrick Harris or Phillip Seymour Hoffman AND a reality show. There is also a song about him.
I wanna do the Slater Slide!
Next up is Elyse Porterfield. She was a stockbroker’s assistant who quit her job using dry erase boards after overhearing her boss call her a HPOA. Hot Piece of Ass. She tells her story over 33 dry erase board messages which she then e-mailed to the whole staff.
You can see the whole story here http://thechive.com/2010/08/10/girl-quits-her-job-on-dry-erase-board-emails-entire-office-33-photos/.
However, after further investigation it turns out that Elyse is too good to be true and the dry erase board quitter was just a hoax thought up by the people at thechive.com. Oh.
