Saturday night I went to Opa South Beach for Mindy’s friend’s birthday dinner. Opa is a Greek restaurant where you can dance on tables, throw napkins and smash plates. Also, after around 8pm it turns into a club and they have a DJ, Continue reading
I went to another artsy fartsy event this weekend. It’s called Arts Park and it is a gathering of vendors selling flowers, foods, paintings and natural beauty products. I ended up getting mangoes, a bouquet of flowers and slice of Ethiopian cake all for $5.50. The cake was lemon and pineapple and it was a slice of heaven! I want to go back just so I can get more cake. They also play movies in the park on Saturday nights which I want to go to soon. I forgot my camera so I didn’t take pics but here’s a pic of the beautiful bouquet I bought.

Tropical Storm Bonnie is on its way to South Florida. A tropical storm is stronger than a tropical depression but weaker than a hurricane and is classified by wind speeds of 39 – 73 mph. My main concern is about flooding and losing electricity since that seems to happen easily here in South Florida. I already have a flashlight and candles and last Continue reading
This weekend was part 2 of Jaci’s birthday extravaganza. On Saturday we went to Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlor, which has been open and unchanged since 1956. Jaxson’s is known for it’s Americana memorabilia and ginormous and delicious Continue reading
Last night I saw “Inception”, which is a sci-fi action flick produced, written and directed by Christopher Nolan. The cast included Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, to name a few. This movie explores the landscape of dreams and blurs the lines of reality. I must say that it is one of the most creative and unique movie concepts and it is also one of the best movies I have ever seen. It has superb action sequences, excellent cinematography and very interesting stunts; slightly reminiscent of “The Matrix”. However, I will say that you really have to pay attention during this movie to understand what exactly is going on and it does blur the lines of reality so it can leave the viewer confused. Also, the ending is up for interpretation so some may not like that but I do think that there will be a sequel. Overall, I give this movie a 9.5/10.
I also saw the trailer for the Facebook, movie, “The Social Network”. I had heard that there was a movie coming out about Facebook but I thought to myself,”how interesting can a story about Facebook be”? But once I saw the trailer I realized that the movie was about Mark Zuckerberg and the creation of Facebook and the adversity he faced doing so. I love learning about entrepreneurs and how they became successful, and I have researched Mark Zuckerberg, so I will definitely be checking this movie out. Not to mention that the movie looks entertaining and I am addicted to Facebook. Can you believe that Mark is 26 years old and worth $4 billion? I can definitely learn a thing or two from him.

Soo, I got a call about a marketing job today. The lady was interviewing me and she asked me my salary range and I told her. Mind you, I think I lowballed it. Anyways, the lady was like ohhh, that’s out of our range blah blah blah. Oh well, I have experience, I’ll have my MBA in December and it’s expensive to live here. I don’t want to work for peanuts and it seems that many employers in South Florida only want to pay a little higher than minimum wage.
Dream, “The American Dream” got “caught” cheating on his wife, Christina Milian, this week. Reports say that the couple has been separated since late 2009, which is odd to me since they got married in September 2009. Beyonce side eye. This news doesn’t surprise me because they never seemed like a genuine couple to me. It seems to me as if they had some sort of arrangement. F*cking for tracks. Anyways, I think this is a blessing in disguise for C.Mili and I know that she can do wayyyyy better. Bevy Smith , fellow tweeter, twatted
George Steinbrenner, principal owner and managing partner of the NY Yankees, passed away on Tuesday morning due to a heart attack. He was 80 years old. Steinbrenner bought the Yankees from CBS for $8.8 million in 1973 and in 2009 his net worth was an estimated $1.15 billion. He was definitely a successful entrepreneur and someone to be respected.
Mel Gibson reminds every one of the importance of giving blow jobs in 2010.
This week’s episode of The Deadliest Catch centered on the passing of Capt. Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie. Capt. Phil passed away due to a stroke, in February, while he was filming the 6th season of the highest rated show on the Discovery Channel. Producers revealed that after the stroke Capt. Phil wrote a note to the cameramen instructing them to keep filming and they did. His final episodes were very emotional and very tasteful. Capt. Phil has two sons, Josh and Jake, but my heart really aches for Jake. In the episode before the stroke Jake admits to his dad that he is an addict after Capt. Phil catches him stealing his pain pills. After his dad falls ill Jake decides to go to rehab while Josh stays by his dad’s side. However, Jake gets called back after Josh receives a phone call about his dad’s condition taking a turn for the worst. It was not revealed on the show, but I really hope that Jake made it back in time to mend his relationship with his dad before he passed.
I have an inexplicable crush on Josh Harris. sigh.
This week marked the end of an era for MTV. The last episode of The Hills aired on Tuesday. The final scene left everyone in a state of confusion after it was revealed that the show was filmed on a Hollywood backlot. I thought everyone knew the show was fake? There was also a reunion episode where LC made an appearance and Speidi was noticeably absent. However, Spencer showed up across the street from the taping dressed as and acting like a mad man. smdh.
**Jaci is the Pop Star of the week. She is turning one year older tomorrow and I have known her for half of my life and she hasn’t gotten on my nerves yet. Happy birthday nubian princess**

So, I was in Key West this weekend for part 1 of my best friend’s birthday celebration. Her actual birthday is July 16th. Our first stop was at the Hurricane Hole to get some food. I got my fried conch which was delicious.
After that we arrived at the hotel.
Once we arrived at the hotel we took a swim in the pool while enjoying our free smoothies. Unfortunately, that night I ended up falling asleep early for reasons I will not disclose here.
The next morning, Saturday, we went to a French restaurant on Duval Street. Their ham and cheese crepe and potatoes were to die for. Sooo good.
After we ate breakfast we headed to the beach and spent the day there.
That night we went out to eat and then we headed to Captain Tony’s, which is the oldest bar in Florida.
After we partied for the night Jaci and I took a rickshaw, which was driven by the fabulous Steven, back to the hotel.
I had a lot of fun this weekend and I really like Key West. It is only about 3.5 hours from Miami so it makes for a nice weekend getaway. I will definitely be back.
My friend and I did a photo shoot yesterday for our Ebay store. Here are some of the items that we shot that are up for sale.

I’ve been pretty busy this week preparing for my friend’s birthday weekend in the Keys. I have school work to do, business work to do, I have to clean my house, go grocery shopping and pack. I’m excited for the Keys. I’ve never been there before and this will be a much needed vacation.
So Lindsay Lohan was finally sentenced to 90 days in jail yesterday. About time!! This girl is such a has been why do we care about her anyways? Her last hit was “Mean Girls” and that came out like 10 years ago.
Everyone seems to be waiting with bated breath to see which team Lebron James is going to sign with. To increase the anticipation he is holding an hour-long press conference to announce which team he is signing with Thursday at 9 pm. I don’t follow sports so I don’t care at all but everyone seems to be going Lebron crazy, especially here in Miami, so I can’t get away from King James. However, all I can think about are the groupies. If Lebron signs with the Heat I know that a lot of groupies will be extremely happy and regular dudes won’t stand a chance.
Tonight I watched the first 2 episodes of the new season of the Real World: New Orleans. I don’t really watch the Real World anymore but I got sucked into it and it also piqued my interest since I was in New Orleans back in March. I think Eric is the best looking guy on there but… Ryan.. is the piece de resistance for me. I love his hair styling, moody, cuddling with guys, drama queen craziness! And now that he got a crap load of pain killers I know that it’s on and popping and he will bring the dramatics for real.
I have been a fan of Kathy Griffin’s: My Life on the D-List since the first episode. She is one of my favorite comedians but this week’s episode focused on her mom, Maggie, who is such a GILF! I adore Maggie. I just want to put her in my pocket and drink boxed wine with her. Her trademark saying is “Tip it!”, which refers to tipping the box to get more wine out of the box, and she has a book named after her saying. I. Must. Have. It. Maggie is amazing and she is the star in my eyes.
**I want to give a special shout out to Matt. He is the Pop Star of the week and he is the best boyfriend I could have ever asked for :-)**
